RIIHAN305D Operate a gantry or overhead crane
This unit covers the operation of gantry or overhead cranes in the resources and infrastructure industries. It is a non Worksafe course and applies to cranes which do not incorporate a cabin, or a function other than raise/lower, north/south travel and east/west travel. It includes planning and preparing, operating the crane and carrying out operator maintenance. The work described in this unit relates to the National Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Standards for Users and Operators of Industrial Equipment (NOHSC: 1006).

- Inspect and perform crane operational maintenance
- Operational maintenance record keeping
Course Pre-requisites:
- Read and write English to a basic level
- Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the work safely

- Practical Assessment
Duration:
- 4 hours depending on experience and course numbers.
Certification:
On successful completion you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet sized plastic card stating the unit achieved.
